Quality and Benchmarking

One of the objectives of the technology implemented by AiiNTENSE is to help intensive care units in their quality approach

The benefits of a quality approach

  • Reduction of medical errors, breaches of law
  • To provide full documentation and reduce the legal risk for the individual or the care facility in case of a complaint from relatives
  • Improving the follow-up and satisfaction of users (patients and families)
  • To help teams perceive their work as well done (virtuous circle) and to consolidate team spirit

Complementarity AiiNTENSE - EPIMED Solutions

The patient data collection module ofAiiNTENSE works in conjunction with the Epimed Solutions software thatAiiNTENSE distributes in France. Epimed Solution enables a medico-economic analysis of each intensive care unit. Together with theAiiNTENSE dashboard, it allows to optimise the quality of medical protocols and the organisation of a hospital's intensive care unit based on a comparison with more than 1000 intensive care units in Latin America and Europe.

The particular case of Active Therapeutic Limitation (ATL) decisions

Any person (paramedical or medical) in charge of a patient may consider that the patient is in a phase of unreasonable obstinacy or over-treatment, and that it seems legitimate to consider a LAT. However, only the doctor in charge of the patient is responsible for the decision to perform a TAH.
The doctor in charge is the senior doctor responsible for the patient's care and medical prescription. He/she assumes responsibility for the decision to limit or stop treatment, for its implementation and remains the guarantor of compliance with the rules of the reflection process and its application.
This decision is governed by the Leonetti law, which imposes an obligation of means, as in any medical situation, and to be up-to-date with the state of the art. Access to a network of experts through the tele-expertise solutions ofAiiNTENSE guarantee the quality of the decision in form and substance.
